I’ve been doing a lot of traveling lately. In the past few months, I’ve been able to take vacations with my husband, as well as visit breathtaking beaches for my new show. Even if our life has been quite packed lately, I do take the time to update myself with new cool finds. I like to try out new things, whether they’re skincare, makeup, clothing, toddler stuff, homeware and more. Best of all, I can recommend these to you guys so that you can try them out for yourself!
Check out the stuff I’ve tried and loved in the past month or so. Let me know what you think of my June discoveries if you’ve used some of these already!
The Wet Brush
Seriously, this may be the best hairbrush ever. The bristles of this unassuming hair tool gently detangle your hair. It doesn’t matter whether it’s dry or wet, thick or thin. It makes maintaining your crowning glory a breeze! They have several variants now that help add shine and strength to your hair, but you honestly can’t go wrong with the original.
Glossier Cloud Paint
I’m not the first to sing praises about Glossier, and I’m certainly not going to be the last! Their Cloud Paint is my current go-to for adding a rosy tinge to a bare face. My current fave is the shade Haze, and it looks soooo natural as a blush, as if it’s all from within! Have you tried this? Let me know which shade you love in the comments below!
Clear Zinc Oxide Sunscreen Sticks
Since I’m always at the beach, I do have to invest in skin protection. It’s so easy to forget how much time I spend in the sun, and how much this can actually harm my skin (wonderful tan aside). This is why I keep clear zinc oxide sunscreen sticks. Applying these on your body helps prevent sunburn and sunspots. As a bonus, it’s safe to use on children. I’m sure that Connor is well-protected with this before he goes out to play in the sun.
Put me in a bikini and I’ll be the happiest girl in the world! I’m currently crushing on Lahana swimwear. This is an Australian brand that makes such beautiful, unique pieces! I particularly love this white bikini that looks so, so, so good with morena skin.
IGK hair products
Everyone wants to look like caring for their hair is effortless. At least, I think so. 🙂 Because of the many days in the harsh heat, I’ve been using IGK’s Thirsty Girl Coconut Milk Leave-in Conditioner for extra hydration. I also use their Direct Flight Dry Shampoo to keep my hair looking great on days I don’t shampoo. There are benefits to having no-poo days, but you don’t need to be without product to keep your hair looking good.
EZPZ Mini Mat
Oh, I really wish I knew about this when Connor was little! I bought one for my godson, and I highly recommend this to any mom who has a young child starting to eat solids. It’s an all-in-one silicone plate and placemat that makes mealtimes much easier. You can get EZPZ mats that are bowls, partition plates, and more. Because it’s so fun for kids, it helps them feed themselves instead of being forced by mom or dad. It’s able to suction to flat surfaces, meaning there’s less chance of baby flipping their plate over when they get upset.
This is my current fave for Instagram stories. I’m sure you’ve seen your fave Insta-idols showing a new layout for IG stories which uses a clean, magazine-like aesthetic. This is all thanks to the Unfold app, which allows users a cleaner and clearer way to share their life stories with friends and family. Download it for yourself and try it out!
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
People are calling it the best series they’ve ever read, but even I can say that I’m so hooked! If you liked books like The Hunger Games or Divergent, this thrilling tale would be right for you. It’s being turned into a movie real soon!
It’s been almost ten years since I got my last tattoo. So, when I wanted some new ones done, I didn’t really know where to get them. I met Marlon Capuno of Vice Ink through my friend Xeng. Let’s just say that I ended up getting four new ear piercings and six new tattoos. LOL. 😉
I’m always on the lookout for more things to discover, whether it’s in another country, on Amazon, or back home. 🙂 I hope my June discoveries are things you would try, too! Leave me a comment if you think there’s something I should check out!
